Websites, Making Your Visitors Do Want You Want.

Creating a website is easy in todays template driven world. The fact is that, all a user really has to do is add the proper words to the website template of their choice and put it online. Then there are the custom jobs that you run into during your web surfing. You know the ones great graphics, and awesome multimedia presentations. Even these have the exact same need for text adaptation to accomplish the desired goal.

Listen, while, templates can perfect a websites arrangement and graphics, the fact is that text is what makes the sell, causes the desire to register, makes the point, is searched for by web surfers, allows your website to be found by search engines, and retains the visitors attention once they arrive.

So, it would make sense that every effort would be employed to perfect the text of ones website as well as the graphical layout. Despite all of the other features that technology has afforded users online, try to imagine what the worldwide web would be without text. It would basically be useless as text is truly the work-horse bearing the lions share of communications online.

At the risk of being redundant, when your website is visited by web surfers, 80% of what keeps them there are the words they encounter, it tells them what your site is about and what you want them to know domain name. Sure, there are exceptions to this rule, like video sites and photo sites but those make up such a small portion of the available online content. Text is king. Text errors need to be treated like villains that come to steal your money. They should be hunted down and eliminated.

When I say that textual errors should be eliminated, some would conclude that the only problem that I am referring to is misspelled words, but that is just the tip of the iceberg. Lack of clarity through poor grammar, poor punctuation, broken links, and various typographical errors can steal more than just your visitors respect and trust for you. It can steal many of your sells.

Imagine, if you will, the last time that you were doing your job and someone approached you and asked something that you knew must be part of your responsibility, but you could not determine what they needed because their communication skills were flawed. In that scenario, you must have patience and listen to figure it out because it is your job and your paycheck on the line. That is frustrating.

Listen very carefully. Web surfers have no such obligation to figure it out. In fact, if you are trying to sell your product to them, you are essentially saying, hey, I am going to frustrate the heck out of you, and I want you to pay for it. This is not a good marketing move.

You see, when a website is riddled with these seemingly subtle errors, many website visitors instantly and subconsciously turn into a faultfinder. They notice everything that is wrong with the website and some leave immediately. While others will stay long enough to decipher what you intended to say, they will then leave to make a purchase with someone else that they deem to be professional.

A website alone doesnt sell products. A websites clarity about the great item for sale sells products. Clarity, Clarity, Clarity.

Since the introduction of the template website era, websites are going live faster and faster. This quick turn around often exacerbates the lack of clarity problem as website owners dont use the necessary time to test their textual content for clarity and flow prior to the site being introduced to the public.

Combine this with the fact that most websites belong to individuals with limited funds, and you run into a dilemma. Most of the money they have will need to go into marketing efforts for the website. So, paying someone to proof read and correct the website doesnt fit in the budget.

That why services from websites like TypoBounty dot com puts the proofreading and advertising together to provide website owners with a powerful tool for achieving the perfect website. Users get both for a fraction of the costs usually associated with this benefit.

TypoBounty dot com allows website owners to place a small bounty/cash reward on types of errors they want eliminated. The offer of cash rewards draws visitors to the web properties and causes them to stay longer, read all of he content and catch the full impact of the website owners sales pitch SEO Company. Add to this, that it can be done for less than 10 bucks per month and the service becomes invaluable to website owners that are just starting out and those that just want to clean up their web properties, while gaining large amounts of web traffic

The seemingly free environment of the internet

lulls unsuspecting business men and women into a false sense of security when it comes to providing content to web surfers. Large businesses became large by doing it right. Smaller businesses are getting killed by this misconception and will continue to be out performed by their competition without a careful approach toward website perfection. In todays competitive business culture, thatll do, just wont do.

Web Design Creation Options

Do you want to make money through the Internet but you don't have enough experience or capital to start your own online business? You don't have to worry, for a lot of online marketing options exist for you to start with. One of these options, and shall I say the best, is affiliate marketing.

Affiliate marketing provides first time online marketers like you the chance to market something online even without having your own product to sell. All you have to do is to sign up with an affiliate marketing program, which is usually owned by an online merchant or retailer, and start picking the products you want to promote. As an affiliate, you are paid by the merchant for your services on a commission basis, that is whenever you have directed a visitor to the merchant's site and the visitor actually buys something.

Becoming an affiliate in an affiliate marketing program is often quick and easy, and for most affiliate programs, signing up is also free. But despite these and all the benefits being promised by affiliate programs, many people are still hesitant to get into affiliate marketing. One of the reasons why a lot of people remain hesitant is the lack of a website to start marketing his affiliate products with. This now leads us to the question of whether a website is required or necessary in affiliate marketing or not.

Many people say that one can do affiliate marketing even without a website to start with. Actually, one can really start promoting and marketing his affiliate products even without a website; and there exist a lot of ways on how this can be done. In fact, many affiliate marketing strategies that leads to success can exist without actually needing a website. Among these strategies are email marketing, offline promotions, writing e-books, writing ezines and engaging in online discussions like forums, chats, message boards and others.

Email Marketing

Email marketing, or maintaining email lists, is actually the most popular affiliate marketing strategy that doesn't require the affiliate to maintain a website. In this affiliate marketing strategy, what you basically do is maintain a list of the email ads of your prospective customers and provide them with articles that are relevant with the affiliate products and programs you are promoting. Articles that you provide your contacts with need not always be promotional, for many individuals find such types of email annoying. Rather, it would be better if you provide them with something informative and just add small text ads that link to your merchant's site.

Offline Promotion

There are many ways on how you can promote your affiliate products offline. Among the common medium used for such promotions are classified ads, brochures and flyers. Classified ads would generally work better compared to the other two because classified ads in periodicals often get a wider audience.

Writing Free e-books

If you have a knack in writing, writing an e-book can be the best way for you to promote your affiliate products in the absence of an actual website. Just like in emails and newsletters, your readers would better appreciate your e-book if it is not too promotional but rather informative. Be sure, however, to make the contents of your e-books relative to the actual affiliate products you are promoting. And just like in email marketing website hosting, you can just place text ads or banners somewhere near the end of your e-book that links to the merchant's site.

Writing Free Ezines

Ezines are publications or articles that aim to inform individuals about a particular topic. If you don't have a website and yet want to be an affiliate, you can well use ezines to promote your affiliate products or to insert links to your merchant's site. If you have a website, your ezine article may actually work well as content for your site SEO Australia. But since you have no website, you can just submit your free ezine articles to various websites that hosts ezines, like goarticles, ezinearticles and others.

Building a One-page Website

You've designed your logo, and you're ready to print your business cards and other marketing collateral materials. You want to include your website address (also called a URL) to build your credibility. However, you're not quite ready to write and design a full website. At the same time, you don't think it's a good idea to distribute your new printed materials showing your website URL and to have only a a blank web page waiting for your potential client's inquiries. What to do?

Does this sound familiar? Many entrepreneurs who are starting small businesses

find themselves in this position. We suggest that you build a one-page website to use in the interim. Elements to design into your one-page website include:

• Your brand identity graphics. Include your logo and visual vocabulary elements on your website for a consistent look and feel across your materials and to build your brand recognition.

• A short description of your business. This description should be between one paragraph and one page in length when typed into a Microsoft Word document, and it should also be concise. You don't want your one-page website to be a scrolling monstrosity, website visitors will read the content of a shorter page. And, the ultimate goal of your page is for people to read it and learn more about you!

• Your contact information. It's very important to include information about how to get in touch with you-in case someone stumbles upon your website, becomes interested, and wants to hire you! It will also serve as a great reference for any of your current clients or anyone you meet while networking who loses your business card before they have a chance to call you.

• A testimonial from a client, to enhance your business's credibility. An enthusiastic, signed testimonial by a real person-you provide a link to their website as "proof" of their existence-will begin to calm any fears that a potential client may have. This makes even a basic one-page website compelling.

You will see that even a one-page website can bring in new clients and help to convert prospects to clients Search Engine Optimization. And, since having a website is a "must" in today's business world, your marketing package will be up to date as well.

You can use a one-page site as a starting point for a much larger site in a step-by-step manner. Writing one or two web pages at a time and developing a five- to six-page (or more!) site over a period of time is a much less daunting task than developing a full site all at once. Even my 330+ page (and counting!) website started as a one-page site.

The most common excuse that people have for not having a website for their business is that they don't know what to include on it. If you have a hard time writing a single page about your business, try recording yourself talking to a friend or client about your business-it's often easier to tell someone your story than to stare at a blank page.

Another reason to have a one-page web design company developed would be to get a jumpstart on building search engine rankings. You can include search engine keyword phrases into the text on the page, and then submit the one-page site to the engine's ranking software. You'll get established in the search engines and will be able to begin building your site's search engine profile and history. This is the beginning of excellent search engine optimization and the first step on the path toward great rankings that will drive many visitors to your site.

A great advantage of having a one-page website is that you can include your URL on your printed materials. You won't have to reprint your cards and collateral when you do launch your full site!

Web design with content in mind.

When we think of a web site, the first element that comes to mind is the web design, the look and feel. The web design aspect is by far a critical one in the whole web site project. Get it wrong and the whole investment could be a waste. But a great web design on its own will not sell. You need content on your web site and you need up-to-date content. Content is text, informative, well written material that gives at least a good overview of what your services and products are about.

Unless you already have a strong brand or have a huge marketing budget, a flashy web design alone, you good a number of words on your web site to communicate your services and products to your online visitor. If it’s true that internet surfers do not generally spend much time on each web site, it is equally true to say that someone who is interested in your web site will expect to read a bit more about what you do and what you are selling. Of course the web design must not be crowded with text alone. A good web designer will strike the right balance between content and imagery and web design elements like flash for instance.

Remember also that it is not enough to have a great looking web site online, your potential customers must see come across your web site. Today, most people will use a search engine and type in a number of keywords to look for services and products. Your aim in having a web site is to get as high up the ranks on the search engines as possible. Whilst you could pay to advertise on search engines, the most efficient and sought after strategy is Search Engine Optimization(SEO).

When it comes to SEO, content is king. Think about it, search engines are looking to present their users with the most relevant web site and one way of determining if a web site is relevant to a keyword is to analyze the content of the web site. Search engines crawlers do this job. This software will crawl every web site and analyze the content Pay per click. Images and flash animation are invisible to the search engine crawlers. So text on your web site is what will make the difference.

A good web design practice is to get the balance between the look and feel and the content, text and information. A good web design specialist will use various techniques and styles to actually blend the content in with the web design. It the design is correct, the text will not crowd the web design and reading will be a pleasant experience for your web site visitor.

Keeping the content up-to-date is very relevant to search engine optimisation as well. If you have a web design with a few pages, it is relatively easy to update the content. However, if the web design comprises hundreds of content pages, you must build in what is called a content management system (CMS). There are lots of good CMS web design packages available online or you can have a custom built CMS to suit your needs. Once your CMS is integrated into your web design, updating your web site is child’s play.

Outsourcing your web site design

Web site design customers in the UK tend to frown upon outsourcing and this is understandable. Almost every large utility company today outsources their back office and customer services are generally handled by non-UK staff abroad. A lack of personal touch, poor communication skills and accents means that these services are not welcomed by customers at large. We do not want to speak to somebody sitting thousands of miles away for services and products. How about your web site design? Would you outsource your web site design work to another country? Although you might be reluctant at first, there might be circumstances under which it could be interesting and even advisable to have your web site design done abroad or outsourced. A local project manager who communicates well, good value for money and excellent web site design support are just some of the key factors that you might consider before outsourcing your web site design.

Although communications technology has greatly improved over the past few years with cheap and quality technology and telecommunications services, you cannot beat talking to a local project manager in the UK when discussing and ordering your web site design. No matter where your web site is developed, you need to be able to pick up the phone and talk to a sales or project manager who, not only understand your language, but also who is familiar with your needs and the local web site design market. Someone looking for a web site is also looking for a friendly service and web site design advice from a professional who is available at local times and who is sensitive to your needs. This is not always easy to achieve when dealing with remote staff sitting in a foreign country with foreign customs and markets, no matter how much training they have received and no matter how good their accents.

If you are dealing with a local professional with whom you can talk to and develop a professional relationship, there is no reason why the actual web site design work cannot be outsourced abroad in the back end. As far as you are concerned, it does not matter where the web site is being developed. Your local web site design project manager will make sure that your web site is designed as per your request and amended to suit your needs. Once you develop this confidence, outsourcing your web site design work can prove to be very rewarding both in terms of value for money and the quality of the web site design.

Indeed, one of the main reasons for outsourcing web site design, or any other services for that matter, is the cost factor. You could get a lot more done for your money through competitive web site design prices SEO Company. Like it or not, a lot of the web site design skills is actually sitting abroad where, for various reasons, the cost of labour is still reasonable low. If you are concerned about using ‘cheap labour’, rest assured that web designers and highly skilled personnel abroad are not underpaid. Typically, a web site designer abroad working for an outsourcing company will earn at least double the average pay rate of his/her country.

Another key factor is the service level. Web site developers abroad are hungry for work and will generally work odd hours, fast and efficiently to secure jobs and build confidence in their services. They have more to prove than their counterparts in the UK and therefore will generally work much harder on your website companies project.

More than likely, you will require changes to your web site design while it is being developed and even after the commissioning of the web site. The chances are you will have more flexibility on this issue with your web site designers abroad than with local web designers.

So, outsourcing is not a no go area, certainly not in back office web site design. In fact it can be a blessing provided you have an excellent project manager based locally who communicates well with you and his or her back office web site design team.

Web Design for Corporate Companies.

One of the basic principles of marketing is market segmentation. Matching the right product and services to the right market is critical. This certainly applies to the web design business and industry. There are obviously several market segments in the web design business, let alone the IT business in general. There is on the one hand the lower hand of the market i.e. the discount web design market. This web design market consists primarily of small businesses and one man bands who have either just started their business. We are here talking of companies or individuals who have a limited budget to spend on their web design, so price is definitely an issue. On the other end of the market there are the corporate companies who have the budget but have very different needs in terms of web design. Trying to sell to each one of these web design markets requires a different approach. How do we then sell to corporate companies?

A large and medium business looking for a web design company will probably use similar keywords if they are using search engines. Web design and web site design are the most popular keywords, so go for these in your adwords campaign and search engine optimisation. Corporate web design customers will however expect to find a potential web design supplier whose web site design projects a corporate and professional look.

The supplier’s web design look and feel is therefore a key factor. Afterall and like it or not, first impressions count. What is this corporate web design look and feel? If you are not sure, look at some of the corporate web sites. Look at Nokia’s web site for instance. Professionalism is obvious. Well groomed design, a bit of flash animation, not many colours. Certainly no spelling or design mistakes. The corporate web design requires particular attention to details.

Obviously the products or services on offer through the web design will to a large extent determine this look and feel. Corporate identity and the company’s ‘voice’ needs to come across loud and clear through the web design. Use of colours, logos, trademarks, corporate figures on the web design will usually achieve this corporate look.

Whilst budget and discount web design companies would show their prices on the web site, corporate web sites need not show your web design prices. Remember we are not necessarily selling to a price sensitive audience here. Showing your price on the web site might actually put potential corporate customers off your web design services. Price it too low and your potential corporate customers might think that your web design services are not good enough. You would be surprised by what some companies are wiling to pay or have been charged for web design work. Although your potential customers will want to have an idea of cost from the outset, I would not actually show my price list on my corporate web site.

Once the customer goes past your web site and decides to enquire about your web design services they would expect to be greeted by a professional team. Make sure your sales team, even if it’s just you, come across as being professional. Corporate customers expect to treat with corporate web design companies. These might not necessarily be large companies but professionalism and track record is a must. Telephone manners, the quality, value and timelines of your quotes are crucial. You have no room for error when you are dealing with people who expect to pay for an excellent web design product and service.

The corporate web design market is certainly a lucrative one. If you are used to servicing the discount web design market, you need to think twice and prepare for a different web design package offer. You will need to invest into designing your own web site for a more corporate look and feel. You will also have to look into training your sales staff and your internal communication processes so that you come across as a corporate web design company yourself.

Why Custom Logo Design Matters. Are you Satisfied?

Why custom logo design matters

With so many companies competing for the same clients, it’s becoming increasingly important to make sure that ALL aspects of your business are in tip-top shape, including your company logo.

You want a company logo that shouts professionalism and sincerity. Something that says your business is special. You’re not just credible, you’re the company to go to for your clients’ needs. You can’t establish that message with a generic logo. You need a custom logo that reflects the unique aspects of your businesses. After all, people do judge a book by its cover, and people do judge a business by its outer appearance.

Custom logo design vs. generic design

Any logo is generally better than no logo but in a world where busy customers make quick decisions, the better logo is going to make the better first impression, and could be the deciding factor for a client.

You want your logo to be attractive to your customers. For instance, if you’re a construction company specializing in Victorian houses, you want to show that romantic artistic flair with your logo. If you are a construction company with leanings toward modern, high-rise structures, you want that to be reflected. Any artist can draw a house for a construction company, and any clipart book will probably have standard icons, but your logo will be generic and non-specific.

You want your logo to reflect quality, professionalism, and the unique traits that make your company special. Make sure your logo tells your customers what you want them to see. It can make your business look bigger than it is.

Logoworks can help you

Logoworks helps you stand out from the crowd by giving you all the tools you need to get the perfect custom logo for you. Every one of our logo projects uses at least 2 designers; you’ll benefit from the creativity of having 2-5 designers working independently to give you variety.

Logoworks is the leading custom Logo Design Company

Is it any wonder that on their 25th anniversary, Inc. magazine highlighted us in the top 15% of their Inc. 500? This is a rare honor in an annual event where they acknowledge the leading new private companies in the nation. We’re the only logo design company highlighted, and we lead the pack with the ranking of 66 out of 500 in the nation.

When you hire any of the SEO service providers, it is crucial that you understand their techniques and your requirements from the online marketing. And, of course, you need to trade off between your marketing goals and the services that you seek from your personalized Search Engine Optimization services.

Video conference and PowerPoint in presentation

PowerPoint presentations can be done with the help of videoconference. However use a PowerPoint slide or other PC graphics only if it is actually going to enhance your presentation. It should not be used as a replacement for notes, but just as a presentation aide for you!

Keep your slides for the PowerPoint presentation as simple as possible by using additional slides rather than crowding information on a few slides. Always maintain a text size of 24 points or larger for easy visibility. It is always better to use plain backgrounds so as to not lose your identity completely. Use pastel backgrounds like blue or green as the lighter the color is, the better the presentation. Accordingly, it is better to use a dark colored text like navy in the PowerPoint presentation. Avoid glare colors like bright orange on the charts as pastels work the best, so long as they are a contrast to the background color.

It is better to use bold font faces like sans-serif fonts in your PowerPoint presentation. However, it is better to stay away from Italics as the slant makes the letters look jagged. Using fine lines and borders in the PowerPoint presentation only take up space on the slide. There is no necessity of adding page numbers, headers and footers on the slides, as they will be too small to read! Avoid placing any matter too close to the edge of the slide, as some systems tend to loose the edges when converted. Practice as much as possible before making your first PowerPoint presentation over video. This s because if you are comfortable with the system, the system appears to be transparent! The most important thing to remember in video conferencing for PowerPoint presentations is, to practice operating the system beforehand so that you can manipulate the image at each end in the conference.

It is a great idea to use introductory slides in video conferencing. You could perhaps assure participants of coming to the right place and time by including a welcoming message on the first slide of the presentation. These slides cycle automatically, which gives you an opportunity to educate and update your audience while they join your event. These intro slides also serve as commercials for upcoming services, events and products while giving hints and previews of the material that is to come. They sort of remind the audience on how to use the technology to interact with the presenters. One thing to remember in video conferencing is that since you will be logged on early on the presentation as the presenter, don’t forget to hit the mute button if you are interrupted or if you need to take another call!

There are actually two means of showing computer based information in a videoconference; one is by showing the PC screen as a video source and the other is by sharing real PC data. When the PowerPoint presentation is shown using the PC screen as a video source, the person at the far end sees what’s on the PC screen, and not you. Most systems can do this, but some need a separate box called scan converter to change the PC image into the same format as a video image.

In some systems, the image of a PC is treated differently than an image of a person and gives a better quality image. Images of people need a high refresh rate leading to fluid movement. However, PC images are usually still and so lower refresh rates are used to provide a better quality image. The benefit of this method is that so long as you can send it, the far end is sure to receive it!

There are also some systems that divide the bandwidth to provide the far end with both a PC image, and a video image of you. This is applicable in bandwidths above 256 kbps and systems with the capability at each end. Other systems have the ability of sending your PC image as a ‘snapshot’ or ‘still’ image where you maintain the live video image of yourself while the PC image is sent as a graphic. The image here is usually of a higher resolution than of the video picture.

When sharing PC data, the PC that is connected to the system sends the data, and not the image, to the receiving system. The advantage here is that the image quality at the far end is as good as the one at the near end. Here changes can be made to the PC application from both sides. The disadvantage is that it works well only between like systems and when PC based systems are used. This data sharing can be set up through a corporate LAN network, rather than through a videoconference network. Theoretically, you have a video conference system for audio and video and a PC at each end to manage the data.

A Word About Slicing and Exporting Pages

Both Macromedia Fireworks and Adobe Photoshop provide image slicing and exporting functions. However, I prefer the slicing and exporting tools found in Fireworks better than in Photoshop. On the other hand, I like the typographic effects, image editing features, and overall design control I get with Photoshop. Navigation and button bar in Macromedia Fireworks (You can make navigation bars and buttons in Macromedia Fireworks quickly and easily. Buttons can be sliced and exported to make navigation bars for use in Macromedia Dreamweaver.) As well, in many cases, I have legacy documents that are in Photoshop file format. My point here is that I use both applications when I design Web site screens. You might favor one over the other. But for slicing, exporting, and integration with Dreamweaver, Fireworks wins hands down in my opinion. Not to worry though, Fireworks opens native Photoshop files with layers and the text is completely editable.

As long as versions are up to date, the integration is seamless. You could design all your pages and navigation graphics in Photoshop and then open them in Fireworks to optimize, slice, and export. If you create pages in Photoshop, you can save the files as PSD format. Then, you can open the PSD file directly in Fireworks. You can tweak the page and slice and export. Lastly, you can save the file as PNG so that it is easily edited and re-exported in the future. Macromedia was purchased by Adobe in April 2005, but Fireworks and Photoshop still remain individual products.

In the future, it will be interesting to see how Adobe integrates the applications to create a Web graphics tool that will enable even the newest Web portfolio designer to create Web screens and output them to Web pages quickly and easily. The process is good now, however there always be improvements made to digital workflows as technol- ogy progresses. We have overviewed various pieces in the Web production process up to this point.

We covered several approaches to creating Web pages. Web screens and using Dreamweaver for creating Web pages from scratch are main points that we discussed. Also, we covered various graphic file formats used for Web images and we establish which formats to use for various types of artwork. We also established basic designs for our Web portfolio pages and developed storyboards to guide us through the development process. In the next sections we take a closer look at the tools and explore some of the most important techniques used to create Web portfolio pages.

Don't expect to learn the applications and each technique immediately after reading the tutorials. You should become familiar with techniques by reading about them and then attempting to execute them repeatedly on your own while tackling a Web portfolio design project. As I mentioned previously, you will develop your own personal workflow and technical approach as your practice and experi- ence preparing assets and creating Web pages expands. With that said, let&rs quo;s begin by using Macromedia Fireworks to design, slice, and export a Web page.

Make a Web page layout in Macromedia Fireworks MX 2004:

1.Open Macromedia Fireworks and immediately go to Window>Properties and Window>Tools to show the tool bar and property inspector. Both palettes may be open on start up.

2.Go to File> New and create a document at the size you want your Web pages to be: use 800 x 600.

3.Set the resolution of the document to 72 dpi and choose a Web safe background color from the palette.

4.Start by creating a page header and navigation bar. If you are using HTML text-based navigation, you can skip this section. Your navigation will not be graphical. That's fine and very appropriate for a Web portfolio. But if you want get a bit fancier, the following are a few steps on how to create page headers and graphical navigation buttons. To make a page header, create a box that spans the top of your Web page (800 wide by 75 high). Set the header box to the desired color and then add text to the bar or open an image and drag it into the Web page document directly from its window (see next). Scale the graphic accord- ingly in the Web page document and then place it on the navigation bar.

The header text should state the page name, for example bio or resume would be typical headers (categories). To make the navigation buttons, create boxes or circles (around 50 x 50 pixels) and align them vertically or horizontally. Then overlay the corre- sponding category text. Be sure to align the text and the buttons correctly so that the visual appeal is consistent. If you need help with alignment, you can go to the menu item View> Grid and View>Guides - Drag guides from the rulers on to the page. Align elements using the guides. Leave the rest of the page blank. We will add layers to this content area later on when we open the newly sliced Web pages in Dreamweaver.

5.If you want to push the pages further in Fireworks, you can open the Web graphics you created into your screen designs by dragging and dropping from window to window, copying and pasting, and by importing. The easiest way is to drag and drop. You can open images in Macromedia Fireworks and drag from one window to the next. Each image comes over on to its own layer. Use the scale tool or simply click CRTL+T and you will get a free transformation bounding box around the graphic. Hold the corner node and shift key and scale the graphic; hit return to complete the operation. You can design pages with g raphics completely using Fire- works or place the individual images on the Web pages later using Dreamweaver. We will show both techniques in this Custom Web Site Design tutorial, the choice of design methods will be yours.

When you hire any of the SEO service providers, it is crucial that you understand their techniques and your requirements from the online marketing. And, of course, you need to trade off between your marketing goals and the services that you seek from your personalized Search Engine Optimization services.

A recent study conducted by a leading research agency shows that these days more and more people come to internet for business purpose. To deliver results to customers you must have a website that caters to all their requirements.

Web designing is a complex process involving many elements. However if a professional undertakes this work it becomes very simple for you. There are many professionals who will do the work for you for a certain amount of fee. It is advisable to leave the designing part to a professional. Before embarking on designing the website make sure that you know what exactly you are looking for. This will help you in giving a clear picture of your requirements to the pro.

Hiring a pro to do your work is a fantastic way of going about designing a website. Decide on a theme. It may be anything a color, a photograph, a logo or an image. Make use of it throughout the website. Keep a constant tab on the progress of the work done on your website. Your website must be very appealing and visually pleasing for the visitors. Take note that your site contains images and visuals which moves, flashes and talks to visitors online. This is a sure shot way of grabbing attention. Ensure that the contents in your site are regularly updated.

Have plenty of templates in your website. Templates are cheap and look very good in a website. A photograph speaks a thousand words. Add proper photographs in the right places. With so much of competition in this field no one will go for a time consuming search to get what they are looking for. Make sure everything is properly displayed in the proper places. Another important factor which you must take note of is the target audience of your site. This is vital in determining the look of your site.

All search engines have the basic parts described above, but there are many differences in how these parts are combined to produce results. All the major search engines follow this theme to some degree, in the same way a cook may follow a chili recipe, but cooks like to add their own secret ingredients. Search engines like to add spice to their ranking methods. Each engine has it's own set of rules. Nobody does it exactly the same way, and this is why the same search on several Search Engine Optimization often produces different results.

Advantages and disadvantages of using web templates or WYSIWYG editors for web designing.

Template based web page development:

A lot of people get tempted by good looking web templates. Some template vendors even offer do-it-yourself kits to their customers. Web templates are designed by experts, using the latest designing software. They look stunning, compared to web pages developed by other means. While readymade templates offer several advantages, they have some disadvantages too.

Advantages of using templates:

1. You know how your finished site looks. You can choose the template that appeals to you. You need not rely on a web developer to get a good looking Web Design Sydney.

2. Faster turnaround. You need not spend a lot of time on getting the colors and layout right. You can go straight to changing text and proceed with programming.

3. Templates are much cheaper than hiring a web developer. There are several sites that offer free templates as well.

4. Templates look much better than sites developed in traditional HTML programming. Templates are designed by professionals that are creative and competent and experienced.

5. Templates can be customized by anyone with basic HTML knowledge. You can customize the template yourself using a text editor.

Disadvantages of using templates:

1. You can get web templates for free or at a low-price. But these templates are not unique. Several people may have already bought or downloaded the template you have chosen. If you cant change the colors or layout a bit, your site looks like a clone of several sites. If you want a unique template design licensed only to you, you need to spend a fortune on it.

2. Often, templates don’t look good if you stretch them a bit. For example, if there is space for 100 words in a block and if you try to insert 200 words in that space, the template layout may change. And this may not look good. This puts limitations on text you can place in a template based web page, thereby restricting you from optimizing text or being descriptive about your business. It is well known that the more verbose in a page the more attention it gets from search engines. A template doesn’t come with Meta tags. You need to insert these meta tags.

3. Templates are good for static pages. If a site needs dynamic pages with a huge database to built, you need to opt for simpler templates.

4. If you are doing customization for yourself, always work on a copy of the template files. Templates are often done with simple HTML. But if you try to edit HTML tags instead of text between them, you might end up with bad page layout.

5. If there are template files with .tpl extension, locate the files where variables are defined. Then try to establish the logic behind the file system.

Using WYSIWYG editors:

Nowadays, several WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editors are available for creating web pages. With these editors it is possible to create good looking pages simply by dragging and dropping objects on the page, without any HTML knowledge. They come with a lot of menu options. If you are familiar with windows objects or windows based software, you can create a web page in time.

Advantages of using a WYSIWYG editor:

1. Its great fun to create web pages this way. You can do it yourself, experimenting with colors and layouts. The web page is likely to be unique, unless you are trying to clone another web page. You can stretch your imagination.

2. It’s faster and easier to create web pages. You can make changes to a page layout by simply dragging the objects to their new positions.

3. You can make changes to content (text or images) in WYSIWYG editor, instead of searching for and inserting between HTML tags, or using a complex content management system.

4. WYSIWYG software runs on any windows computer.

5. you can also create background images on fly.

Disadvantages of using a WYSIWYG editor:

1. A WYSIWYG editor produces files of large sizes. The web page may take a bit longer to download.

2. The HTML code generated may not be compliant with existing web standards. Some of these editors are meant for web sites to be hosted with particular servers. Some WYSIWYG editors even produce files with their own extensions.

3. You need to fill in a lot of details, such as Meta tags and link colors for each page. Some WYSIWIG editors support CSS while editing and some don’t.

4. You need to preview the page in different browsers more often to see if the page is shaping up as you intended.

5. Web pages designed using WYSIWYG editors are rigid. They do not stretch if you put more text or images on a page. Instead they overlap on each other. Some WYSIWYG editors produce excessive div tags. It is difficult to edit these pages in an ordinary HTML editor.

6. Often these web pages are difficult to optimize for search engines.

I believe this article will help you in deciding the tools to use for your next website. If your site requires a huge database and pages need to produce dynamically, it is always better to opt for traditional programming methods. If your site is static, then a great looking template or using WYSIWYG editor will be a good option. Another factor you need to consider is SEO. If you want to rely on traffic from search engines, traditional HTML, CSS gives you the best results. If you can promote your site by spending huge amounts of money, you can go for flashier and visually stunning templates without much regard to SEO Company.

Building an Effective Website

There is no question that these days you cannot successfully run an Internet business, or in most cases any type of business, without an effective website. Most people, unless they are very knowledgeable about the intricacies of building websites, employ the services of professional website builder software, such as the highly rated XSitePro. The cost is definitely worth it when you are looking to have a website that portrays your business in the most effective way, and want it to be eye-catching and customer-friendly. The business owner needs the type of software that can help him or her build a website that will reflect exactly what he or she wants to portray, and what his or her customer need. There are basic steps involved in building an effective website, and good quality website builder software will help the business owner through each step so that the process can go smoothly.

1. General concept. At the very beginning of the website building process, the business owner should map out a plan, making an outline of what the general concept of the website should be. Before ever starting on the website, business owner should make specific notes about the website concept. Business owners should realize that the professional site builder software contains templates and ideas for building an effective website, and the software itself can probably contribute ideas that will enhance the website experience for everyone. However, the business owner is the one who knows what he or she wants to portray with the website, and how the website should work to enhance the business as a whole. Within this framework, the concept of the website will be determined, and the business owner, using the website builder software, can start the actual work.

2. Design. Things can get trickier when deciding on the actual website design. An effective website needs to reflect the business in its design, sometimes in a subtle way, and sometimes in a much more flashy way. A lot of this will depend on the type of business. If the business is selling children toys, the design of the website should probably be light and fun, with bright colors, whimsical graphics, and a fun text font, such as Comic Sans. A bookkeeping business website, on the other hand, should be portrayed in a more mature manner, with colors such as hunter green, gold, black and burnt orange, and a more serious font, such as Times New Roman or Arial. Though animation would work well on the children toy site, the bookkeeping business website would be better to have more serious graphics, such as office photographs or clip art that depicts a serious working environment. Everything from the title to the contact information must be considered in designing an effective website. The business owner can work with different possible design ideas, and then build a prototype before the website is published. This way, the business owner can decide on every aspect of the website design, and make necessary changes before actually launching the site.

3. Type of media used. Websites these days do not have to be just pictures and graphics. Different types of media can be used to make it a more effective site, such as video and sound. The business owner may wish to have an introduction on the first page of the business website; one that includes a video presentation. This can be very effective when trying to portray what a business does, and how it works with customers.

4. Search Engine Optimization. Good website builder software will help with search engine optimization, so that the business website can and will be seen by the right demographic. The best and most elaborate business website cannot be effective if it is never seen, and this makes search engine optimization one of the most important aspects of the website building process. Though the words that are contained within the website are up to the business owner, the website builder software can help by automatically examining the text content of the website to determine if specific optimization keywords are placed correctly, and in a number that will help give the website a good rating in the search engines.

5. Important details. An effective website has to include certain details in addition to design, graphics, and text. These details can often be overlooked when building a website without any help. These include such things as pop-ups, effectively linking, mail server details, contact information, and business marketing add-ons such as merchant accounts for accepting credit card payments on a website. Good website builder software includes these things so that no detail will be forgotten. XSitePro takes the business owner through every possible website detail, so that certain website details can be chosen and others rejected. The key is knowing what the choices are so that the website will be as effective as possible.

6. Changeability. Most business owners know that they cannot build a website and then never have to change it. The very nature of business means that a business website will need to be changed on a regular basis. With good site builder software, changing the website to meet the changing needs of a business can be done smoothly, without having to start from scratch. Customer bases change, new products are added and old products become obsolete, new announcements need to be featured on a regular basis. Building a Website Design Firm is never a one-time deal, it is an ongoing process, and effective site building software will be conducive to this.
